| Beschrijving opdracht | The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintenance being described, prepared and carried out. The engineer determines and prepares the preventive and corrective maintenance that needs to be done and arranges timely execution. He guides own (e.g. technicians) or external personnel when they execute this maintenance. In case of breakdowns the engineer is, within his field of expertise, the last stop (besides vendor-support). The engineer acts as subject matter expert on his field of expertise, giving input to the centre of expertise regarding his field of expertise. Responsibilities: • Determines which maintenance should be carried out on the equipment under his responsibility. Arranges that the necessary maintenance is carried out in time. • In case of preventive maintenance this means he/ she determines frequency and kind of maintenance and makes sure all is in place for this maintenance to be executed. • In case of reactive, corrective actions he/ she determines the appropriate measures and arranges all necessary preparations. • The engineer takes care that all work is carried out within GMP, SHE and Maintenance & Utilities Centre of Expertise (COE) rules and regulations, including correct documentation and administration. • Troubleshoots breakdowns within his field of expertise, normally escalated to him from second line maintenance. He/she is the last stop in the escalation chain and is the one to solve the breakdown, often by addressing and coordinating actions, where necessary by calling in vendors for support. Troubleshooting includes carrying out of root cause analyses. • Supports and guides vendors that carry out scheduled maintenance or solve breakdowns. • Is aware of the status of the equipment under his responsibility, and takes measures where necessary. Measures are e.g. taking corrective action, but also addressing improvements or replacements at the COE. • Delivers input to the COE, as holder of specialised expertise. This input can e.g. be participation in development of guidelines, the review of design documents, or the writing of work instructions, training material etc. It can also be suggestions for improvement. Requirements: • MBO or HBO diploma in a relevant technical discipline • Relevant NEN3140 certificates • VCA2 certificate • English • GMP Leiden site |
